Wednesday was unfortunately the last day of our little mountain getaway. We enjoyed a nice, lazy morning in the hotel, and the kids soaked up all the wonders that come from the free breakfast buffet available at Residence Inns.

Erin and I decided to go a little healthier that morning and I went over to a local smoothie shop. I got out for a nice morning walk and enjoyed the views one more time.

I ordered up a couple large smoothies, each with a few add ons, and then threw in a few of these delicious energy balls they sell there. This being a tourist town in the mountains, I was by no means expecting any of this to be cheap, but even with those reasonably high expectations, I did a spit take when I saw the total come in at close to 40 bucks.

Given, they were good smoothies, but wowza. For that kind of dough I would have expected they would have had bourbon in them or come with bluetooth. But hey, easy come, easy go.

We got ourselves packed up and checked out and then went out for a last stroll around town. It was a beautiful day and the kids got in some good play time at the little playground in the town square.

After that, we got in the car and said our goodbyes to Breckenridge…for now. We will certainly be back. Our intention was to stop about halfway down the mountain to grab lunch at a little place with outdoor dining that allows dogs, but by the time we got there, it was snowing pretty hard and we decided it was probably not the best conditions for that sort of thing. So we powered on home, got unpacked and wrapped up the day with some pizza.

It was a fun trip, and also good to be home. The dogs, in particular, were thrilled to be home and we were also happy to not have them bark every time someone walked down the hallway.

Spring Breck is done, but still a few days of Spring Break back home.
