On Thursday, it was finally hot enough to engage our brand new air conditioning system. Hooray! It worked. It doesn’t do anything fancier than that. It does keep us cool, but it’s not like it has bluetooth or any other awesome perks. But hey, we’re happy to be back in the world of comfortable indoor summertime temperatures.

But being hot outside, we soon found ourselves being asked by Henry if they could play in the “sprinklator” again. I like this fun word adapataion device he’s come up with. The pantry has also become the “pantrarator,” which does admitedly sound way cooler. Like I bet the pantry in the Fortress of Solitude is called the Pantrarator.

I was originally going to make the gag that the pantry in the Batcave was called the Pantrarator, but we all know that would actually be called the Bat-Pantry.

Anyway, the day the before the kids had asked me if I would join in the sprinkler festivities, and I told them I would. The kids continue to be big into playing superheroes, so I told them we could play superhero sprinklers in the backyard. The sprinkler became some kind of water monster and we did righteous battle against it.

Super powered Amelia (today playing Elsa from Frozen) showed particular courage by charging the monster head on.

I’m pleased to say that in the end we defeated this high powered aquatic beast and the world was safe (and refreshed) once again. All in a day’s work.
