Yesterday, I wrote a little about feeling tired. As much as I’d like to say that I woke up on Thursday, filled with renewed vigor and energy, yeah, that wasn’t so much the case. I wasn’t quite the zombie I was the day before, but still a little lacking in vigor.
But life bursts all around us, even when I’m chugging coffee to rev the engine. Nature shows us this all the time, and our garden is a perfect example. We have a little garden box in the backyard, and Erin planted lots of yummy veggies and herbs back in spring. I swear, the garden box looked fairly sparse just a few weeks ago, but it feels like overnight, BOOM. It was bursting at the seams.

For a few weeks we’ve had some great kale, spinach, herbs, and other good yummies. Thursday morning, the kids came in from outside, super excited to show off tomatoes they picked from the garden.

And I must say, I’m very excited about this too. Becasue unlike the kids, I actually really, really like to eat the tomatoes that come from the garden. For the kids, though, they are just cool little red balls they get to pull off plants.
The day was fairly uneventful, other than the tomatoes. Not to say it wasn’t busy…I had back to back webinars and two conference calls, so it was plenty busy on the work front. Just not anything terribly interesting for blog consumption.
But what I will say is that looking at that garden does remind me that big things do come from small and humble origins. Looking at that garden blow up seemingly overnight makes me think of how I felt when I found myself hitting triple digits on the days of this blog. Sometimes you just plant something, water it, and before long it’s something bigger than you ever expected.
And rather than belabor that rather lame analogy, I will simply close today by thanking everyone who has taken time to read my musings over the past few months.
Writing this has been helpful for me, and if it’s sparked a thought or two from anyone reading, or made anyone feel like they’re not alone muddling through these strange days, that is icing on the cake. I appreciate your taking the journey with me.
