I came into the week looking rather unkempt.
With a shaggy, uncared for beard and pretty out of control hair that hadn’t been cut since July, I was definitey rocking some pandemic hobo chic.
I finally made the call to get in for a haircut, and I initially thought I might explore getting a pro beard shave too. Of course, COVID restrictions being what they are, the shave wasn’t going to be popular. Shaving technology has come a long way, but nobody’s figured out how to shave around or through a mask.
So I took off the beard myself a few days ago, which actually had the effect of making the long, out of control hair look even more ridiculous.
Friday came, and in the afternoon I headed down to Denver to see my hairstylist and get de-hair-ified. It was also good to see my stylist. She’s been cutting my hair since I moved to Colorado, and the last time I got my haircut I actually had to have a substitute because, in very 2020 fashion, she had to take a few weeks off because a drunk person on a scooter hit her on her bike in Denver, leaving her with a broken arm and collarbone, as well a concussion and back injury.
This year has found so many creative ways to suck for so many people.
But I was glad to see she’s doing much better and it was nice to catch up and and finally get a trim. I am pleased with the cleaned up look.

It was also nice being downtown and seeing Larimer Square all gussied up for Christmas. It was quite a view.

And frankly, that was about it for Friday. I did the weekly grocery shopping, we ordered some pizza and watched a movie together. After the kids were in bed, I caught the latest episode of The Mandalorian and then fell asleep on the sofa watching The Empire Strikes Back. Another week…done.
