Quick post tonight…Thursday daytime was pretty usual, and Henry had preschool in the afternoon. His second week in, he seems to be doing really well. He’s always excited for school and we are hearing that he is doing really well dealing with transitions and activities. As he is at home, he is zeroed in on the schedule. He like structure and he is adapting well to this one.
After school, the kids were playing a complex imagination game that involved their new stuffies and space travel. While I was cooking dinner, Amelia asked me to steer the ship toward the moon, so I did just that. She made a point to show off her new stuffed dog, Biscuit, as she had her fancied up with a dress and bows.

They were also watching Space Jam, and were getting all excited playing along with the movie. Amelia informed me that they were pretending it was a real game, so they were cheering this 25-year-old movie as if it were live.

At one point, Henry came in and told me he hopes the Looney Tunes win.
Spolier alert for those who are DVRing the game…indeed, Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes DO win, thanks to some extremely dated special effects and, I guess, like belief in oneself and stuff. It’s good for the Looney Tunes that their fate was decided on Michael Jordan believing in himself, because that seems kind of like a lay up.
So good and cartoon heroes prevail, and another Thursday was on the books. Though I’ll say what disturbs me most about watching Space Jam now is that when it was made, Bill Murray, the subject of “old guy” jokes in the movie, was younger then than I am now. I guess my NBA dreams might be at an end, too. Good thing I never really had any. Easy come, easy go.
