Sunday was Mother’s Day, and the kids and I were excited to celebrate the amazing mother in our midst. The kids made cards, and Amelia even made a really impressive book. It is an ABCs of why Mom is awesome and she did a great job assembling it.
I whipped up a nice hearty skillet breakfast, and after that, Erin headed out to get a little pampering with a facial at her favorite spa. At home, I did a few things around the house, and the kids played with their baby dolls.

We also had some fun plans in the afternoon. I ordered a takeout tea party from a cool little tea cafe in Denver. They send the whole setup, including finger sandwiches, scones and biscuits. The kids and I headed into the city to pick that up and bring home for our afternoon tea party. Meanwhile, Erin was off getting her second vaccine dose. Maybe not the spa, but the prospect of full vaccination in a few weeks is a good thing for Mother’s Day, too.
When she got home, we got set up and had a wonderful tea party, complete with bubbly.

Even Asta wanted to get in on the action, suddenly appearing like a ninja on a chair we didn’t know she could jump up on, and going after any crumbs she could find. But she tried her best to look dignified.

Then in probably off-the-norm tea party etiquette, Henry decided to go and play us a little concert on the drums.

Later, Amelia joined in and the two had a full on jam session.
After the tea party, Erin took it easy and we all had a pretty low key rest of the day. I hope it was a good Mother’s Day for her, because she is great and we are all incredibly thankful for her and appreciative of all she does. She is always working so hard, advocating for the kids and striving for the best for all of us.
Through our entire journey with Henry, she has been doing everything imaginable to make sure he gets all the support and services he needs. It’s hard to imagine where we’d be without her persistence, smarts, organization and dedication. She puts her all in everything she does, and we are all so very proud of her. I’m excited to see Erin launch her new business so other families can benefit from her knowledge and talent.
So happy Mother’s Day once again to Erin, and to all the moms reading this. You rock, and thank you.
