This had been one of those weeks where it started feeling like Friday on Wednesday. It seemed like it would never end, but the real Friday did, at last, arrive.

It was a challenging week, but when I look back on it, I could at least say that I got a lot done. Got two articles written, did a few national webinars, got a bunch of administrative work done and marked several other things off my to do list.

But truth be told, I was a little gassed by the end. I used my last bit of energy to get out and do my weekly grocery shopping, also stocking up on everything for our little immediate family Thanksgiving. I’m a big fan of getting that stuff knocked out early. First of all, so I don’t have to deal with big shopping crowds. And secondly, I am a little fussy about my indgredients and I want to make sure I get everything I need before things sell out.

Back at home, we had some dinner and then the kids got into their science experiment kit, something Amelia got for Christmas a few years ago, and set about conducting a number of experiments. I absolutely love how seriously they take every experiment, and nerd that I am, I love talking to them about the basic scientific underpinnings of each experiment.

Amelia really rocks the scientist look, and Henry makes quite a lab assistant.

They did a number of experiments, like seeing how oil and water interact, and seeing which objects float and which don’t.

Pretty cool and enlightening stuff. They did this for quite a while, and it makes me glad to see that my kids are taking an interest in science. Amelia told me that she might want to be a scientist, which I told her would be great. She would make an excellent scientist. It would all be a departure from her vocational wish when she was in Kindergarten, which was “garbage collector.” Also a fine profession, but I think she would do quite well with science.

Also of note on Friday, Amelia lost one of her front teeth!

She is super proud of this development, and waits anxiously to see what awaits from the Tooth Fair. On a completely unrelated note, I need to see what cash I have in my wallet. One thing has nothing to do with the other, I’m just saying.
