It was Friday at the end of the first week of 2021, which already feels like it contained about as much insanity as most regular years do. Off to a solid start!
When Henry’s therapist arrived in the morning, he paused the Spongebob movie was watching His therapist immediately commented that the frozen screen grab really summed things up well.

For me, it was a day to try to continue to catch up on things, and there was some heavy duty multitasking going on. This includes actually listening in on two webinars at the same time. They were both of interest to me…one about the sustainable design Passive House standard, and the other a market update and forecast for our industry. So using two devices and two sets of headphones, I logged into both, at times listened to both at the same time, other times I’d toggle between them, and tried to take notes on both.

There were moments I felt like I was on it and hyper-efficiently filling my mind with new information, and there were times I felt like I was on the edge of madness. So really, pretty much at typical day, I guess.
Other than that, the day was pretty standard issue. Later in the afternoon I took the kids with me to pick up a few groceries. As we were arriving at the store, Tupac’s California Love came on the radio and when I went to switch channels, Henry protested mightily.

I wondered where and how he became such a Tupac fan, but Amelia explained to me the song was in the movie Scoob, so that answered that question.
Anyway, we got the stuff we needed, the kids were great and helpful in the store, and we wrapped things up as it was getting dark in Boulder.

Back home, we made some homemade pizzas and played some Mario Kart. Week one of 2021 is on the books. Hopefully the rest of them are a little less eventful.
