I realized today that I have been at this blog for a little while now. First of all, it’s day 32 and I’ve managed not to miss a day. That is a huge personal victory for me because one new year’s resolution I had was to build a habit of daily writing, and pulling that off for an entire month is a notable achievement. At the beginning, I would likely have bet against myself making it to this mark.
The other reason I know I’ve been at this for a while was because my first instinct was to title this post “Snow Way,” and then I suddenly had a sneaking suspicion that I already used that that headline. I scrolled back through old posts, and sure enough. I’m already using old material.
But we’re in quarantine, so what the hell. We woke up to a VERY snowy day. “Snow way!” I shouted. Clever, right?

But the kids were in pretty jovial moods, even if Amelia expressed that she was angry that we had snow again. Join the club, kiddo. But I came down from doing a few things upstairs to find them watching videos and joking together. It’s always good to remember moments like this at times when they are locked in mortal combat.

In work news, I had to deliver my first full-on remote presentation, and I was a bit nervous. It was my first time using Zoom for something like this, but on the plus side I was able to set it up with a relatively friendly group. It was a firm I’d presented for before in person and I warned them they’d basically be guinea pigs for this process.
OK, I didn’t use those exact words. A good rule for presenters everywhere: avoid referring to your audience of “pigs” of any kind. Doesn’t help build the rapport you’re looking for.
Anyway, even though the attendees would be seeing my presentation rather than my face, I took a cue from the board member on my call the day before and put on a tie to try to feel a bit more in the professional mode.

While I wouldn’t rate the presentation to be my best, it went pretty well and was a good first shot at this. Later, the kids got outside to play in the snow. Even though Amelia had been complaining about it a few hours before, they were both having tons of fun jumping around in it.

From there we had dinner and capped the evening with a Trolls music dance party in the house. I didn’t bother to take any pictures, because no camera can capture the groove and funk that happening here.
