We had a busy day planned on Saturday, some of it the usual thing, and some of it some out of the ordinary family fun. In the morning, Henry was struggling a little bit, feeling unsure about what to do until we got to the real day’s activities. He asked me if he could play in his tunnel, which is a sensory toy of his and often helps him calm down, so I let him have a few runs through that. It really seemed to help.

A little later that morning, I took the kids to do our weekly grocery shopping while Erin went off to work, meeting with some dog training clients. The kids were great helpers, and had lots of fun with each other.

But the afternoon was where the real fun was, because we planned to go out and do some minature golfing. Erin recently passed a course not too far from home, and we thought it would be a good, outdoor, COVID-safe family activity for us to do. The weather was great, and we had so much fun on the course.

The theme of the course we did was some muddled fairy tale/pirate/horror kind of thing, so there was a mix of things along way. The kids both loved the haunted house the most, because it reminded them of the Addams Family.

Me, being one who enjoys terrible puns, I also loved that stop on the course for all the bad pun gravestones.

The rest of the course was great, too, and even had the requisite windmill.

It was a really fun afternoon, and we went and had dinner together afterwards. All throughout this time, we hav tried to find activities we can do that are safe and allow our kids to be kids and have fun. This was a perfect example of one of those things. Outside, with mask requirements, and we had a blast. We will definitely be back.
